On the weekend of April 6 & 7, volunteers from the Piermont Rowing Club, the Activity Club at Tappan Zee High School, neighbors and friends of the Gardeners, and even strangers from other towns converged on the Garden and joined the Gardeners to level walkways, lay gravel and sand, pass over 8000 bricks into the Garden, lay them in the walkways and cement them into frames around the beds. For this generous show of volunteer people power, we owe a welcomed debt of gratitude. If we can't pay it back, may we pay it forward!
And to all those who contributed funds toward the purchase of bricks, we say "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" We couldn't have done it without your financial support.
We are so grateful to the community for helping in this ambitious venture to make our Garden not only more sustainable, but also more beautiful.
Please, come and visit the Garden this summer and enjoy a stroll along our new brick paths among lush vegetation.
To forget how to dig the earth and to tend the soil is to forget ourselves.
